"Dreams to sell, fine dreams to sell,Angus is coming with dreams to sell.
Hush now wee bairnie and sleep without fear,
For Angus will bring you a dream, my dear."
aaaahhh...... that sleep thing. Isn't it wonderful??? ..... Or are you saying, "Sleep? What's that!?"
Yes, well for some reason since my early forties I often slip into a pattern where I'm up at around 4:00 AM wide awake. So, what possibly could be going on at 4AM that my body wants to so consistently make sure it doesn't miss out on??? Around 10:00 I gulp down my Melatonin, LTheanine, Magnesium, Valerian, Hops, Passion flower and Dogwood. I take some Chinese calmative compound and a homeopathic remedy. I relax with some gentle yoga. Sometimes I take a warm bath with some lavender oil. You'd think with all that goin' on I'd be out for 3 days!!!
Now I know for some of you it's a whole lot worse so I certainly can't complain. EFT has been very helpful because I often get back to sleep if I'm consistent. But I'd like to see if I can get to the cause of my early waking and I'm using you as a sounding board! So thank you. Aren't you lucky!!
I've made an appointment with my holistic doctor to go over some results from a saliva hormone test. Also, I hear that in Chinese medicine each of the organs are connected to a different hour of the day and night. I think 3 to 5 AM has something to do with the lung meridian. I'm wondering if there is some energy blockage in the lung meridian. Anybody who might know more about this is welcomed to help me out and clue me in as to whether or not they think I'm on the right track. Until then, .... sweet dreams, my dears!

Diane, thanks for this interesting information about the TCM correspondence between meridians and time...especially since I've been a little time-obsessed lately :-)
I will have to do some research...for it this is some of what's at work for me, well, then there's a lot of blockage!
*grinning*
Sleep well, and try to do the best that you can when you're not sleeping...(that's the challenge I'm setting for myself anyway :)
Thank you, Neroli. Good advice. I'm trying to do some research, too. Maybe we'll come up some answers.
Diane
