The Art of Being Silly!

"There is a fountain of youth: It is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age."

-Sophia Loren

Last Sunday I enjoyed an afternoon with some friends at my place. We watched Wayne Dyer's program together and ate lots of healthy food and had a lovely time. Before leaving, a group pic was in the making. The usual serious one and then something goofy, of course!

There is absolutely nothing like being silly! It cleanses my soul and uplifts my spirit. My worries just float away in a sea of laughter and become dust! I am transformed by my friends and I am reminded that I am not alone and never will be. My body feels lighter, younger and more alive. It is clear to me that getting together whenever we can is not only fun, but healing! What a blessing to have friends. And how good for us to keep in mind that inspite of all of the heat flashing, insomnia, mood swinging, etc ... a little silliness can make a huge difference!

As Ludwig Wittgenstein said,
"If people did not sometimes do silly things, nothing intelligent would ever get done."
