A Personal Training Session

Sunday I had a whole lot of fun in a private session with Holly, a weight trainer who was recommended by my holistic MD. She was very good with me. We played with exercise balls and spri tubes and dumbbells. I learned about something I've never seen before called exercise resistance bands. They are good for people who need something softer on the joints. I got some great information in one hour for only $35! I found out there were several things I needed to correct about my work out.

For example, I wasn't starting out with some stretching and that's important. I was also doing too much too soon (which I hear is a common theme - we want results NOW!) I was doing too many repititions. My goal is to prevent osteoporosis and gain weight. So, instead of increasing repetitions, I was told to slowly increase the weight. Or if using bands and tubes, increase the resistance. Resistance seems to be the key word.

I decided to see how well I do for the next 3 months or so and call her again if I need to.

Diane, that sounds great---it's such a good thing do for yourself.

I really like situations of the type you describe here: ones where I'm on the "right track," and someone with the needed knowledge can show me which lane I need to be in :-)!
Enjoy your weekend!

Diane, just checking in with you, dear. How was your week?
It's been a good week here...
this week has flown by ...and it's payday today!
I wanted to thank you for stopping by---and reminding me to remember there's more to life than work :)!

Neroli, so nice to hear from you. I had a strange week. I got out of bed last Thursday and was hit with an awful wave of vertigo, nausea and swetting! Turns out it was just some congestion in the ears, nose and throat brought on by some protein bars I was eating that had some dairy in them. I thought I was dying!! (laughing)

Anyway, I'm just now starting to feel like myself. Thanks for checking in. Good to hear that you're doing well!
